How to create the perfect Cheese Platter

A cheese platter is one of the most fabulous ways to entertain at home. It is so simple, delicious and everybody loves it! The important thing about it, is knowing how to combine the elements to make an extraordinary flavor experience, which reminds me the starwberry - cheese Rataouille's movie scene: "....Now, try them together... See...That's it. Now, imagine every great taste in the world being combined into infinite combinations". That's how a flawless Cheese Platter should feel, just follow this simple steps.

1. Cheese selection

You want to give your guests a variety of textures and flavours. I recommend choosing one or two from these 3 types:

SOFT: Burratta (Buffalo, Cow), Brie, Camembert, Gout cheese (Chevre)

SEMI-SOFT: Blue, Gorgonzola, Gouda, Munster, Port Salut, Emmental

SEMI-HARD: Manchego, Jarlsberg, Gruyere

2. Add Texture

I like to pair cheeses with elements that are chewy and crunchy, also cheese goes excellent with sweet and salty elements.

CHEWY: dried fruits (cranberries, apricot, raisins)

CRUNCHY: Candy pecan, almonds, cashews

3. Selection of spreads.

Honey, tapenade, jam, chutney and salsa.

4. Bread & crackers

Choose different kinds of it like crusty, fruiti, salty, spicy and flavoured bread. Also crackers and chips are great for creamy cheeses.

5. Musts

Fresh fruits as a variety of grapes or figs and olives.

6. Others

Pickles, cherry tomatoes, chocolate, red peppers and meat (charcuterie).

Tip! Pair it with white or red wine!

Cheese must be served at room temperature, so leave it out of the fridge at least two hours before serving.
