Roasted Strawberry, Dark Chocolate & Camembert Cheese Sandwich

This heavenly recipe is scrumptious! I had some last week's Camembert leftovers and decided to try out this recipe I had seen all over Pinterest. Most of recipes that I've found, were Grilled Cheese sandwich, but I decided to bake instead of grill, otherwise I can assure you it is much more messier.

You can use either Camembert or Brie.

Then, make sure to choose a good quality dark chocolate; one with at least 70% Cocoa. I got the Ghirardelli Dark Chocolate 72% and used only half a bar. I highly recommend to use a dark one or you'll get a super sweet non pleasant mix, believe me!

The good news is that it's the perfect season for Strawberries, so you won't have any problem finding the perfect ones. Cut them in wedges and transfer into a baking dish.

To roast them top with 2 Tbsps of Maple Syrup and 1 Tbsp of unsalted butter. Bake for 30 minutes at 400°. Once it is out of the oven, let them cool for 10 minutes.

Meanwhile cut your loaf, I used a rustic French one.

Butter each side and add the camembert slices. Personally I think one cheese layer isn't enough, I wish I would have added one or two more layers. Bake it for 5 minutes or until the cheese is melted, then add the roughly chopped chocolate and return to oven for 5 additional minutes.

I do these steps separately so I can control how toasted I want my bread, since chocolate melts even faster than cheese. If you add an extra cheese layer, this is a must. Let cool for a few minutes.

Finally add the roasted strawberries and there you go!
